Ukuran tangki NFT tidak usah terlalu besar, karena NFT memang sangat irit air. Untuk 100 tanaman sekitar 20 - 30 liter saja, itu pun biasanya hanya 3/4 bagian saja yang terisi air.

Untuk tangki usahakan dipendam dalam tanah, agar air selalu dingin.
