| Hello Google Maps Platform customer, We're writing to inform you about updates we are making to the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, Service Level Agreement, and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which will be effective starting March 1, 2025. We've provided additional information below to help you understand the specific changes to be implemented. What you need to know - Terms of Service: The terms will include specific modifications and clarifications to the payment sections for India and Mexico.
- Service Level Agreement: We added new definitions of a Failed request and Monthly Uptime Percentage to align with how developers experience service outages. Failed requests are now assessed based on server-side errors. The Monthly Uptime Percentage ratio is now assessed by evaluating the ratio of failed requests to all requests over the month.
- Acceptable Use Policy: We added new provisions on dangerous activities, harassment and discrimination, privacy violations, limiting sensitive consumer opportunities, derived personal information, child endangerment, and weapons technology. We are launching a new Help Center to provide clear explanations of the Acceptable Use Policy provisions and illustrative examples.
What you need to do No action is required from you. This update will be effective starting March 1, 2025. To learn more about the specific changes, please review the updated terms.
